Philosophy of care | I will listen and always be empathetic and treat you as I would treat my family. | Why I entered medicine | It may sound cliché, but medicine was an inclination I had held onto since I was a child. My internal drive to care for others and my love of science set me on this path. All that, coupled with the desire to be the first physician in my family, my intense motivations have carried me through for all these years. | Initially, my interest was with pediatrics, until my third year clinicals in which the specialty of OB-GYN enticed me. This was the only field I felt, and still feel, gave me a continuous sense of satisfaction for the past 20 years. | Community involvement | I am a member of St Jane’s church in Easton. | Personal interests | I enjoy traveling, gardening and reading fiction. Philosophy of care | My partner and I treat people like family. We respond to questions immediately, and when we order tests, our philosophy is that we should call every patient with results ourselves. I make those calls every day before I go home for supper. That way patients can make the most informed decisions about their care. We work closely with colleagues at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest and are very happy to refer our patients to specialists in disciplines like infertility and gynecologic oncology. We make sure we abide by screening guidelines for tests such as bone density so we can refer our patients for appropriate treatment. | Why I entered medicine | I grew up in the Lehigh Valley, where a lot of family friends were physicians, and I was struck by how they took care of patients and had great concern for them. I wanted to help people get healthy and stay healthy, and was most interested in delivering babies. Even though I no longer practice obstetrics, I’ve been here since 1980s and have delivered about 3,000 babies for area families. People I’ve delivered often bring their own children back to see me, and that’s very rewarding. | Community involvement | I’ve been on an advisory board for the local Red Cross and contribute to that organization and the Salvation Army, which is a major provider for local poor and homeless people. Many of our homeless are veterans who served their country and are now sick. The Salvation Army takes care of a lot of them. I appreciate the work they’ve done for vets who have come on hard times. | Personal interests | Beyond spending time with my wife, who is a local bookkeeper, and our two college-age kids, I like outdoor activities like water sports, hiking, fishing and camping. I grew up that way – my parents always had us doing things outdoors. We usually do a beach trip to Cape May in the summer. When you work indoors all week, it’s nice to be out waterskiing or being in the natural environment. Dr. Yaswinski is rated as an Experienced provider by MediFind in the treatment of Neuralgia. His top areas of expertise are Melorheostosis with Osteopoikilosis, Melorheostosis, Osteopenia, and Pelvic Inflammatory Disease.

Philosophy of care | My philosophy is that the patient’s interests come first. I treat all patients the same regardless of anything. I grew up in Syria, where the care was good but could be a little neglected. I feel patients always need better care and you can always find something to improve. That really drives me in my practice of medicine. It’s very rewarding to see patients respond and know that they really feel better – to see smiles on their faces. That’s a goal in this field. | Why I entered medicine | A neighbor who was a doctor guided me when I was young, and I always felt he liked what he did. He talked to me about it and told me it was a really good job – because it wasn’t just a job. Medicine isn’t an occupation where you just go back to work every day, but something you have passion for that makes you feel good about yourself at the end of the day. That made me feel this is something I wanted to go for, and everything he said has turned out to be true. | Community involvement | I live in this community and have kids here, so I’m involved with a lot of things like being members of a church and Scouts. What I like about Scouting is that it’s good for both kids and the community. It helps make kids more mature, guides them, encourages them to make good decisions, makes them feel independent, teaches skills, and fosters respect for nature and people. It helps make them good, productive members of their community. | Personal interests | I enjoy sports, travel and music. I play a stringed instrument called the oud, which is similar to a guitar but wider in the back. I learned it as a child and brought the instrument with me when I came here from Syria. I mostly play for myself but sometimes play for people from our culture who know about it. Dr. Kayed is rated as an Experienced provider by MediFind in the treatment of Neuralgia. What is the definition of Neuralgia?

Neuralgia is a sharp, shocking pain that follows the path of a nerve and is due to irritation or damage to the nerve.

    Common neuralgias include:

    • Postherpetic neuralgia (pain that continues after a bout of shingles)
    • Trigeminal neuralgia (stabbing or electric-shock-like pain in parts of the face)
    • Alcoholic neuropathy
    • Peripheral neuropathy

When should I see a Neuralgia doctor near Wind Gap, PA?

There are various reasons why you may want to see a specialist, such as:

    • Your primary care provider recommends it.
    • Your condition requires expert knowledge and specialized care.
    • Your symptoms persist or worsen despite treatment.
    • You need specialized testing or procedures.
    • You want a second opinion.

What should I consider when choosing a Neuralgia doctor near Wind Gap, PA?

It’s important to see a provider with expertise in your specific condition. Each provider profile in MediFind’s doctor database includes information on which conditions they treat, years of experience, research contributions, languages spoken, insurance plans accepted, and more.

How does MediFind rank Neuralgia doctors near Wind Gap, PA?

MediFind’s rankings are based on a variety of data sources, such as the number of articles a doctor has published in medical journals, participation in clinical trials and industry conferences, as well as the number of patients that provider sees for a given condition. Note that MediFind’s provider database is not based on user reviews, and providers do not pay to be included in the database.

What types of insurance are accepted by Neuralgia doctors near Wind Gap, PA?

Most profiles in MediFind’s doctor database include a list of insurance plans accepted by that provider. However, it’s a good idea to contact the provider’s office to make sure they still accept your insurance, then doublecheck by contacting your insurance plan to confirm they’re in network.

How can I book an appointment online with a Neuralgia doctor near Wind Gap, PA?

MediFind offers direct scheduling for certain providers using the “Request Appointment” button on that provider’s profile. If the schedule option is not available for a provider, tap the red “Show Phone Number” button on their profile to get their contact information. If you prefer to find providers who offer online scheduling, select “Schedules online” under the “Availability” category of the filter feature on the left side of the Neuralgia doctor search results page.

Why is it important to get a second opinion from a different Neuralgia doctor?

Second opinions are an opportunity to confirm a diagnosis and its root cause, learn about alternative treatment options, or simply gain peace of mind. Many people, especially those with serious diagnoses, get second opinions so they can understand all their options and make informed decisions, so don’t hesitate to get one if you have any doubts or need more information or clarification regarding your care. Note that some insurance plans require second opinions, while others don’t cover second opinions, so be sure to confirm with your insurance provider first.

How can I prepare for my appointment with a Neuralgia doctor near Wind Gap, PA?

Prepare for your appointment by gathering the following items:

    • Copies of medical records (dating back at least one year)
    • Your medical history, including illnesses, medical conditions, surgeries, and other doctors you see
    • Family history of disease
    • List of current prescription drugs, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal remedies or supplements including names and doses
    • Allergies to medications, food, latex, insects, etc.
    • List of questions and concerns
    • Your insurance card

You might also contact the provider’s office to see if they offer transportation or childcare services or if you’re allowed to bring a loved one for support or to take notes during your visit.

What questions should I ask my Neuralgia doctor?

    Here are some sample questions:

    • Can you explain in simple terms what this condition is and how it’s treated?
    • What symptoms or side effects should I watch for?
    • What tests will be involved, and when can I expect results?
    • Are there other specialists I need to see?
    • What’s the best way to reach you if I have follow-up questions?

How can I learn about the latest clinical trials and research advances my Neuralgia doctor may know about?

MediFind’s Clinical Trials tool asks you a series of questions to help you narrow down your search by health condition, age, gender, location, how far you’re willing to travel, and more. Each question you answer filters down the number of trials until you find the ones that are most relevant to you.

MediFind’s Latest Advances tool features summaries of recent articles published in medical journals. We use cutting-edge technology to scour medical publication databases for the latest research advancements on any given condition, then we simplify this information in a way that’s useful and easy to understand.

Can I filter my search to show male or female Neuralgia doctors near Wind Gap, PA?

Look for the filter feature on the left side of the Neuralgia doctor search results page. Select “Female” or “Male” under the “Gender” category to search for female or male providers exclusively. If the “Any” option is selected, it will pull results for both male and female providers.

Can I filter my search to find a Neuralgia doctor that offers video calls?

Look for the filter feature on the left-side of the Neuralgia doctor search results page. Select “Offers telehealth visits” under the Availability category to search for providers who offer virtual appointments (video calls).
